After a zip-lining adventure with my oldest, we made an unplanned stop at the Ho‘okipa Beach View Lookout. From above, the shoreline looked scattered with dark rocks. Then we looked closer: many of those “rocks” were Hawaiian green sea turtles resting on the sand.
That spontaneous stop became one of the most memorable moments of the day. It is also a reminder that some of Maui’s best experiences happen between the scheduled activities.
When you visit, enjoy the view and give wildlife plenty of space. Observe from a respectful distance and follow all posted guidance.
